IMG_0497Learning Communities are really taking off and everyone wants to know how they work.

On April 9, Laura Mongiovi, Steve Voguit and Katherine Owens presented a session at the Florida Library Association conference entitled “Embedded Librarians: Collaboration and Learning Communities.” In this presentation they discussed the origins of the Learning Community, how each participant got involved and how they worked together. They also discussed what went well during the semester and what went wrong, with a heavy emphasis on the nature of embedded librarianship because it was a library conference.

The session was well attended with over 50 attendees, and a number of attendees either asked questions or stayed after the session ended to talk to the panelists.
