Flagler College launches ‘Ignite’
learning communities

September 1, 2008 by admin

Ignite is a Flagler College initiative to spark student engagement through first-year learning communities. The first Flagler learning communities are launching during the Fall 2008 semester, and the freshman participating in them are getting some exciting opportunities.

For the first semester, the learning communities will study the theme of “Power” through English, government and art classes. They’ll take field trips together, work on special projects, meet at gatherings – overall, they’ll have a unique experience designed to get them involved with their education.

Over the next five years, Flagler will expand the Ignite initiative to include all incoming freshman. The Ignite learning communities are a proven way to strengthen what Flagler College is already known for: providing students with a learning environment that’s both supportive and challenging.
